The Distributed and Parallel Systems (DPS) group at the Institute for Computer Science, University of Innsbruck, Austria, invites applications for funded doctoral students in CLOUD COMPUTING.
The applicants must hold a master or equivalent degree in computer science or computer engineering and are expected to contribute to research in the context of the H2020-funded project ENTICE.
The DPS group focuses on simplifying the effective use of heterogeneous multiprocessor architectures and geographically distributed resources (including Cloud infrastructures), which will provide the basis for the next generation of Internet-enabled performance-oriented applications.
Candidates with good background in distributed and parallel computing and interested in one of the following research areas are encouraged to apply:
- virtualization technology
- scheduling and optimisation
- runtime environments
- dynamic resource management
- energy efficiency
- Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning
- Service Level Agreements (SLA) and business models
- Big Data
The entire doctoral program at the University of Innsbruck, including all graduate courses, is in English. There is no need to learn German.
