Georges Da Costa is a permanent Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the University of Toulouse, IRIT lab since 2009. He was from 2007 to 2009 Post-Doc at CNR in Pisa, Italy and at Nicosia in Cyprus working in the context of CoreGrid. He received his PhD from the LIG HPC research laboratory (Grenoble, France) in 2005. He got his Master in 2001 from Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon at the LIP laboratory.
He has been WG leader of a former Action: COST0804 Action on ‘Energy efficiency in large scale distributed systems’. He is currently WG leader of the COST1305 Action on « models and runtime ». He has taken responsabilities in several european projects (CoolEmAll, PireGrid).
His main interests are related to large-scale distributed systems, algorithmic, performance evaluation and energy-aware systems from a system and runtime point of view. More precisely his s research highlights in the context of Grid, Clusters, Clouds and Ambiant Systems are
- Large-Scale energy efficiency
- Heterogeneous aware algorithms
- Performance evaluation
- System level monitoring and management
- Ambient systems.
